Computer Forensics Files
They had a situation. A computer proficient was heading over to their offices to make a copy of their client’s computer – the dame’s laptop – to essay to prove that she dispatched endearing emails to a scorned male – the flush guy…Mr. Silicon Valley.
See, flush guy had not been so flush until some computer hardware of his design had been snapped up by a big player in the computer concern for a powerful sum. Newly flush Mr. Silicon decided to essay his hand at picture books – picture books of uncolored hunting young ladies in their native birthday attire. The offer was that they would be every uncolored – no silicone for Mr. Silicon.
One day, Mr. S was dynamical through the Rockies when he espied a liberated young lady. Liberated in the sense that she was 17, but living on her own. S offered to liberate her from a deadened waitress job if she would come springy in his Valley mansion. It would every be very Platonic – they’d each have their own end of the mansion – and she would work with the picture book office staff.
But as our young Mohammedan reached adulthood, Mr. S became enamored enough to make our lovely waif a bit uncomfortable. She thought he was acting like a creep. She desired out – out of the office and out of the mansion. The word “harassment” strikes fear into the heart of many an employer, and Sam & Dave were hunting for a settlement to enrich every involved. But Mr. S was not to give up so easily. He maintained that the lovely Miss had been sending him endearing love letters from her USA Online account. Sure enough, her account had dispatched those letters – but had she been the digit to send them? AOL has a setting that allows a user to sign in automatically – that is, to sign in without having to type in a password. This setting is nearly ever a mistake, unless no digit added is ever near your computer. I ever recommend to my clients that they take the player 5 seconds out of their busy schedules to type an actual password. You might have guessed that her AOL was set to automatically loin.
But the letters had been dispatched after she had already left the office. That meant that if she had dispatched them, she must have drafted them on her laptop from home. A deal was made. Mr. S hired a computer proficient to do some digital discovery. He’d make an identical copy of the hard disk from her laptop, while sitting in Sam & Dave’s conference room. This is where I entered the picture. S & D desired me to make sure that the hired thugs … err, experts … would not pull any funny stuff. I went to observe on the period of the copying.
Home Photo Printing
There are a few simple things you can do to ensure your picture prints look their prizewinning when using your home printer.
First, you want to ensure you aren’t disagreeable to print a picture on essay that is larger than what the icon resolution can support with sufficient quality and sharpness. Typically, you want a picture to be a minimum of 200 dots per progress (dip) but preferably 300 dip. If you want to figure out the maximum size you can print a photo, simply divide the icon dimensions by either 200 or 300. So, for example, if your icon dimension is 1200×800 pixels, the largest you can print it would be 6 by 4. You can find out the dimensions of an icon by right-clicking it and choosing Properties and then Details.
You also want to choose an essay that is optimal for printing pictures. If you ingest plain paper, there is a beatific chance that the ink module bleeds and reduces the icon quality. In general, the prizewinning types of essay for picture printing are glossy and semi glossy. You can try both to wager which gives you the results you like best.
If you’re tempted to save money by purchasing cheap refill ink, you should think twice. There are a number of reasons that the original manufacturer’s ink gives better results. Most notably, it is generally a higher quality ink that requires less to print a photo. And it also creates less ink build up in your printer.
You should also verify a look at your machine settings once in a while. Most machine software comes with assorted settings from draft quality to high quality. You can modify these settings to wager how it affects the final picture quality.
Finally, verify the time to maintain your printer. This generally involves running a print head cleaning routine (found in the machine software) approximately once a month. Keep it dust free by lightly blowing it off with compressed air. In addition, check the machine manual for any other recommended maintenance.
The Power to Survive
This is especially true of small and mid-sized business. Most overtimes when there is a power outage the procedure is to wait it out, and in some cases the playing is shut down for the day. Not a great scenario in this economy, is it? Who crappers afford to blow off any productivity? Worse yet, if the playing is not properly protected sensitive IT infrastructures crapper be damaged by the sudden power elimination, and programs and key systems crapper become corrupted. Companies even uses their preferred logo on custom lanyards to promote their brand.
Do you remember where you were on August 13th 2003? That was the fellow of the largest power outage in North dweller history, when an overgrown tree in Ohio triggered a domino effect of human error and technological failure that left 50 million people in the Northeastern United States and Canada in the dark for individual days.
A Small Business Power Poll six months later in 2004 commissioned by Emerson Power found that while 75% of small businesses saw power outages as a significant danger to their business, only one in five actually felt prepared for much an event. Small playing is not privileged from this fear as the SOB sector is responsible for around 40% of the US gross domestic product. In many cases these entities are tightly integrated with large businesses, so a failure at a consort that is feeding goods and services to large corporations could stunt or lame that organization’s production as well.
With so much at stake small companies are feeding voraciously at the power protection trough, right? Well, not according to the statistics in that Emerson poll with a 20% evaluate of addressing the issue. If businesses don’t address their power needs, how strength they be affected? The most obvious point is without power nothing runs. No network, computers, or email. Without these grave systems running there would be no orders coming in. That puts a dent in the productivity, revenue, and morale of businesses maybe more so in a small consort that lives and dies by the volume of transactions. Complicating matters further is the fact that power outages are not the only danger to a playing mesh work and other grave equipment. Power spikes and “brownouts” (temporary reductions in power flow) crapper damage sensitive electronics and severely lessens their life. Again, the gain result is lost productivity and increased expenditures on capital equipment which negatively affect the P & L statement at the end of the day.
Computer Forensics Works Both Ways
A few are very concerned especially if they are up to “no good” as they undergo that their information might get them into rattling serious pain and there will be criminal implications. Either way, no one wants to have their accumulation compromised, hacked or unstopped for indistinguishably theft right? Well, that is the bad news, I guess, but there is an upside to computer forensics and let me tell you a lowercase story, something that happened to me, that made my day.
First, I ended up with one of those HP Laptops, that had the problem with the DC Jack and the AC Adapter, what happened next was a complete disaster and something very scary for someone who had been quite lax with backing up my accumulation to a back up hard drive system – never again! Any way what happened is this lowercase problem with the DC Jack and AC adapter fried my circuits on my hard drive, thus the hard drive did not work anymore, would never work again, and the computer forensic people told me I was SOL.
Oh man, I am screwed I thought, but they told me there is a way that might work in getting your accumulation back. “Really, how?” I asked. He told me that, they could send it to their decent room vendor, who worked with such things and they would get the exact same hard drive circuit and put it back on and then “maybe” like 60-70% chance they could get my data. It worked, thank god, and its all thanks to the smart folks that undergo computer forensics, these guys are my newborn best friends and will definitely get a Christmas card from me in 2008.
